History

1927-9. Inter-War classicism.

Exterior

3-storey 3-bay Portland stone frontage with set-back top storey and giant Ionic portico in antis. Balustraded parapet, moulded eaves cornice; main entablature with dentil and egg-and-dart cornice, modern signboard to frieze. Linked metal-framed windows with infill panels to recessed centre, cutaway cill, small-pane upper glazing throughout. Matching outer doorways with arched and traceried fanlights over consoled cornices, double 6-panel doors.

Interior

Interior has simple classical banking-hall with coffered ceiling, pilasters, rosettes to "springers", arched doorways etc.
