Exterior

Parish boundary stone between the parishes of Talgarth and Llangors. Fissile sandstone monolith approximately 60 cm high with a rounded top, inscribed Mrs /[Macnamara] / 1821. The inscription is scaling. There were originally two on routes from Cwmdu prior to the Act of Consolidation of 1830 bringing the county turnpikes into one trust.

Reasons for Listing

Included as an unusually dated marker relating to the establishment of territorial boundaries in unbroken moorland in the early C19.
