All Saints Church

A Grade I Listed Building in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

East Window, All Saints' Church, Cambridge

Uploader's Comments

The east window of All Saints' was added in 1865 as a memorial to Lady Affleck, wife of William Whewell, the master of Trinity College. Manufactured by Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co., there are twenty panels, twelve by Burne-Jones, four by William Morris and four by Ford Madox Brown. The oak leaf borders and lettering were added by Philip Webb. It is purposefully designed with a silver-tint brightness to allow maximum light into the chancel of the church which has no other lighting.
