House, originally known as Rougham (1st edition 0.S. 1"). Mid C17 with early
C18 alterations. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 2 cells.
South front has window with chamfered sill with 4-light chamfered mullioned
window over (lacking 2 mullions); doorway with chamfered surround; clear break
in stonework; 2-light double chamfered mullioned windows (lacking mullions), to
either side of inserted 2-light flat faced mullioned window, now forming long
window of 4 broad lights. Over, 4-light chamfered mullioned window. Coped
gables with kneelers. Central stack to ridge. North front has chamfered
doorway and (-light chamfered mullioned window (lacking 2 mullions) 2-light
window to 1st floor over window with plain stone surround. C.F. Stell, p.191.
