Milepost Opposite No 34

A Grade II Listed Building in Wakefield East, Wakefield

Milestone opposite 34, Aberford Road

Uploader's Comments

In the West Riding area, in the late C19, the County Council replaced most of the turnpike milestones with cast-iron ones of triangular section on a stone post. Many were manufactured at Brayshaw and Booth’s foundry in Liversedge, and this milestone bears their details on the hip.
