SU 67 NW BASILDON UPPER BASILDON

1/14 The Beehive

Public House. Circa 1500 with mid C20 additions to north and west. Timber
framed with later brick plinth and pebbledash render, later additions of
rendered brick. Old tile roof with end stack to south and ridge stack off
centre to north. Former open hall of 3 framed bays. 2 storeys. East front:
5 first floor 2-light casements; 2 ground floor 3-light casements to left
and three 2-light casements to right. C20 door between first and second
windows from left with C20 gabled rustic timber porch. Interior: C17 inserted
floor in central framed bay, arch bracing, and smoke blackened roof timbers.
