T Hellyer architect. Begun 1843. Early English style. Stone rubble
and plate tracery and lancet windows. Bellcot over West end. South
aisle added in 1870 by Hellyer and West end extended originally with
gallery. Transepts later enlarged. East end rebuilt and two bays
added to the chancel by Sir Charles Nicholson in 1953. Memorial chapel
to Lord Calthorpe. Clerestory with gabled dormers.
