Clapper Bridge Across Walla Brook on Road from Cator to Bellever

A Grade II Listed Building in Widecombe in the Moor, Devon

Clapper Bridge near Bellever, Dartmoor

This bridge certainly looks considerably older than the suggested early 18th century or early 19th century. I wonder if there might be some confusion with the stone bridge which crosses the East Dart River a short distance away at Bellever. The remains of an ancient clapper bridge sit alongside this stone bridge which does appear to date from the 18th or 19th centuries.
