Shown on O.S. map as Old Barn House.
Large house. C17 remodelled C20. Regular coursed ironstone rubble steeply
pitched C20 tile roof. Brick stacks to right and ridge, 2 on stone bases.
L-plan. Single storey plus attic. 4-window range. Gabled wing to left has C20
metal casements to ground floor and attic. Right part: Two doors. A small
stone pointed arched window between. Rectangular staircase projection to right.
Two C20 windows to right. A small rectangular window to far right. Attic has 2
wooden mullioned windows with lead cames to left and 2 similar C20 windows to
right. Tiled circular bread oven projection to right end. Rear has casement
inserted in stone surrounds and wood mullioned windows. Interior: Stop chamfered
beams. Chamfered bressumer to inglenook fireplace. Wooden spiral stair (elm
treads replaced) Original plan of hall, parlour and through passage to kitchen
is still discernible.
