SW 72 NE MANACCAN TREATH

2/111 Quay and adjoining waterfront
- walling

GV II

Quay and adjoining waterfront walling. C18. Vertically set dry shale rubble with
some granite copings, slightly battered, dressed granite steps.
Plan: waterfront revetment walling with triangular quay projecting to north-west with
rounded spur projecting west of its outer corner; flight of steps in each angle of
the west (sheltered) side; the walls follow the shoreline for a considerable distance
on either side of the main quay.
This quay is constructed on a principle of construction said to have been introduced
from The Low Countries in the C17. It is weathered but in remarkable condition.
