SX 96 NW COFFINSWELL DACCOMBE
4/102 New Barn Cottage (formerly listed
- as Cottage next south-east of Old
Forge including barn extension)
GV II
Cottage. Cl7 possibly with earlier origins, probably C19 barn extension which was
converted in late C20. Rendered cob walls. Thatched roof, hipped to left-hand end,
gabled to right. Rendered rubble gable stack to right end. Small brick shaft to
left end.
Originally 2 room plan originally with 1 heated room to right with gable end stack
and later stack at left end. Probably C19 barn extension at right end, converted in
late C20.
2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front to cottage of C20 2-light casements with
glazing bars on first floor. On ground floor is C20 French window to left and part
glazed door to right. Former barn is built partly into hill side and has 3 dormer
windows and a door at the left end.
