Villa. c1850 with later additions and alterations including
extension to rear. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco
front facade, cement-tile roof and cast-iron verandah with
lead roof. Central hallway plan.
2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows. Quoins, plinth. First floor:
continuous moulded sill band. 2/2 long-pane sashes with horns,
the upper pane rounded, with margin-lights and tooled
surrounds. Ground floor: 2 roll-edged steps to part-glazed
door with basket-arched overlight in tooled surround with
scrolled brackets. Tall 2/2 long-pane sashes, the upper pane
rounded, with margin-lights, in tooled surrounds. Modillion
cornice, wide eaves, end stacks. Continuous verandah to ground
floor has double-scroll motif to uprights.
INTERIOR: moulded cornices with flowers to left room, ground
floor and grapes to right; openwell staircase with wreathed
handrail and rod-with-central-bobbin balusters.
Forms an architectural group of villas with Nos 14-26 (even)
Avenue Road (qqv).
