Villa. c1860 with later alterations. Pinkish-brown brick with
painted stucco facade, Welsh slate roof and ashlar copings.
2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows, range to left projects and
is gabled, with canted bay to ground floor. Chamfered plinth.
3 roll-edged steps to central entrance a 6-panel door within
chamfered, segmental-arched opening under hoodmould with face
stops. 1/1 sashes with sills and chamfered surrounds
throughout, all except those to bay have hoodmoulds with
foliate stops. Canted bay is embattled. Decorative first-floor
band. Moulded eaves cornice. To front gable a decorative
quatrefoil in recessed, chamfered square niche. Pinnacle to
apex. Copings. End stacks.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Binswood Avenue was laid out c1828.
Nos 62-70 (even) Binswood Avenue (qqv) form a group.
