House. c1832, with later additions and alterations.
Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco to front facade, Welsh
slate roof with cement tiles to porch, cast-iron verandah and
railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, 2 first-floor windows and
single-storey entrance bay to right. Bay window rises from
basement to ground floor.
Ground floor: 5 roll-edged steps to recessed entrance a
part-glazed door with stained glass, overlight, within porch
of 2 Tuscan pilasters, frieze, cornice surmounted by
balustrade with bulbous balusters. Bay window has 1/1 sashes
under elliptical arches with cornice.
First floor has 10-pane French windows, blind boxes, plain
reveals.
Second floor has two 6/6 sashes, plain reveals, sills, that to
right with elliptical arch.
Basement has part-glazed door, bay window has 3/6 sash between
2/4 sashes under elliptical arches. Cornice, blocking course,
copings.
To right return are blind openings, 3 each to first and second
floors.
First floor, front facade, has continuous verandah with
double-rod-and-anthemion motif balustrade.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet area railings.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Dale Street was laid out c1832, the east side
was built by 1834.
