Terrace of 7 houses, now houses and flats. Numbered right to
left. c1834-8 with later additions and alterations.
Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facades, Welsh slate
roofs and stucco ridge stacks, some with cornices; cast-iron
balconies.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basements, and attics to rear, 14
first-floor windows, 2 per house, extensions to rear.
Rusticated ground floor, moulded first-floor band.
First floor has tall 6/9 sashes throughout; second floor has
6/6 sashes throughout with sills. Moulded frieze, cornice.
Ground floor: entrances to right (alike): 5 steps (mainly
roll-edged) to 4-panel doors, those to right and to left
part-glazed, with fanlights with radial glazing in panelled
reveals. Tripartite windows have 6/6 between 2/2 sashes, with
sills.
Basement: mainly 10/10 sashes with sills, except to left a
French window and to right two 3/6 sashes. All windows in
plain reveals. To first floor are balconies to each house
except to No.23 with Carron Company double-heart-and-anthemion
motif balustrade.
Right return: first floor has tall 6/9 window with similar
individual balcony. Shaped gables. Rear has mainly 6/6 sashes.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining original plasterwork and joinery
including shutters to some windows. Some fireplaces.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Milverton Crescent was laid out and the south
half built 1834-8.
