History

Probably later C18 and contemporary with the farmhouse (qv). It is, however, not shown on the 1840 Tithe map, but is perhaps too minor a building. A larger example can be seen at the Museum of Welsh Life, St. Fagans.

Exterior

Cylindrical stone pigsty with crowning conical roof of stone, the exterior of the cone now cemented. Square-headed entry on north-east side. Partly covered with plant growth on north side. Probable former stone enclosure and trough no longer extant (see RCAHMW).

Interior

The roof internally of 'cave-work' or corbelled construction.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a well preserved example of a corbelled construction outbuilding, using an ancient building technique.
