Footbridge across the Murk Esk

Footbridge. C1875. Cast iron railway metals with steel cables; timber
deck with iron mesh parapet. Single-span suspension bridge, now fixed.
Bridge replaced the original horse tramway bridge which became obsolete
with the construction by the York and North Midland Railway Company of the
adjacent steam railway bridge (q.v.), c.1847.
