Symmetrical pair of shops. 1884 with C20 alterations. By Major C.E. Davis.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, hipped slate roof, lead to the front slope, with moulded stacks to the returns.
PLAN: Double depth.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys with attics; symmetrical six window front. Horned plate glass windows. Ranges to sides flanked by clasping pilasters with half coved shells to the tympana of broken pediments to attic storeys; parapet to centre broken by four half-dormers with moulded coping to shouldered segmental arches over windows with stop-chamfered arises and curved upper corners. Cornices and friezes over second and ground floors step forward over the pilasters. Eared moulded architraves with thin cornices to upper part of second floor windows are linked to form moulded stringcourse between bays, moulded second floor sill course. First floor windows to outer ranges have moulded architraves and open pediments on elaborate consoles; four central windows have similar architraves to second floor with foliate scrolls and shields above Shop to No.10 to left has set back half-glazed doors to left and two pane plate glass shop window to right. No.11 has set back C20 door and overlight to inside right with two plate glass panes to left and one to right.
