C19 South doorway. The label-stop masks at the bottom of the hood-mould are grotesques. These ugly faces are intended to warn of the consequences of a dissolute lifestyle (called 'sin') and to remind the passer-by that Redemption is available inside the Church. (Photo Mar 2007).
