2/325 The Plume of Feathers Inn

II

Inn, late C17 or early C18, painted rubble stone with stone tiled
roof and coped gables; ridge, rear wall and central front wall
stack. 2 storeys and attic. 3-window range of stone mullion
windows with hoodmoulds. Ground floor 3-light flush cyma-moulded
and 3-light recessed ovolo-moulded window flanking central, C20
casement without hood. Blocked door to left of casement window.
First floor 3-light and 2-light flush cyma-moulded windows and 2-
light recessed ovolo-moulded window. East end wall has 2-light
ovolo-moulded windows to ground and first floors, hoodmoulds over
and attic casement. At west end, single storey wing with end wall
stack and C20 door and window. C19 rear wing, slate roofed with
north end stack and one-window range of sashes.
Interior: East end has north wall moulded stone fireplace. West
ground floor room of main range has 2 heavy chamfered stopped
beams.
