2/30 Nelson's Summerhouse, and
wall to rear garden of
Cholderton House
II

Summerhouse and north east side wall of rear walled garden of
Cholderton House. 1758. Brick, with slate roof. Single cell
behind wall, which is raised over entrance as a large triangular
gable with half-round brick copings. Opening is a four-centred
arch with key and springing blocks, the key with incised date.
Now infilled with glazed doors. Reputedly used by Nelson family,
former owners of Cholderton House. Wall approximately 3m high with
half round brick coping extending approximately 30m south east. from
summerhouse facade to abut outbuilding. Wall sweeps down to jambs
of central opening.
