10/31 Sansome House

GV II

House. Mid C18. Squared, coursed limestone with coped gable. Stone slate roof
with ashlar end stacks with moulded bases and cornices. 2 storeys plus attic;
3-window range. L-shaped plan. To centre a C20 glazed door. A C20 four- and
three-light casement to ground floor, that to right with stone flat arch. To
first floor a range of three C20 cross casements with original wood lintels. 2
gabled dormers, hung with stone slates. Wing to rear, and left gable end have
further 2- and 3-light casements, with flat stone arches. Lead County
'Britannia' firemark. C20 range to rear in imitative style, Interior: chamfered
spine beams, and joists to ground and first floor. Open fireplace rebuilt, the
original timber bressumer re-used.
