Famington Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17 with later alterations. Coursed limestone rubble. Steeply
pitched slate roof. Stone coped gables. Brick end stacks on stone bases. L-plan.
2 storeys plus attic. 3-window range. Entrance off-centre to left has moulded
stone doorway and partly-glazed panelled door. Entrance is flanked by a 3-light
wood casement with brick cambered head and a 2-light stone mullioned window with
hood mould and label stop. To right a 3-light wood casement window with wood
lintel. Between floors a 2-light stone mullioned stair window with hood mould
and label stops. First floor has two 3-light casements with cambered brick
heads. 3 gabled roof dormers. Left end has a 4-light and a 2-light stone
mullioned window with hood moulds and label stops. Interior. Stop-chamfered
beams. Inglenook. Dog-leg staircase with half-landing. Plank doors.
