Former house, now shops. C16 onwards. Rendered. Brick north gable with
stone quoins. Rear range is flint ground floor, rendered timber-frame
first floor and weatherboarded 2nd floor. Pantile roofs. L-shape plan
with rear range at right-angles to the street. Street facade:- 3 storeys.
4 second-floor windows. 3 C20 shopfronts. Casement and sash windows.
Paired modillion cornice. The south end gable is brought to the ground
at the rear of No. 11 as a stone and flint buttress.
Rear range:- Mostly concealed by C19 extensions. 3 storeys. The
south facade has a very large frieze window at ground floor now blocked
and partly hidden. 2 sash windows at first floor. Interior:- Fine ground
floor timber ceiling with lozenge patterns and major axial and cross
timbers, heavily moulded and decorated with brattishing. The C19 heightening
is constructed from the C16 first floor ceiling and diminished-principal
roof.
