The Lodge was probably designed by James Wyatt in 1804. Two storeys. Two
windows. Faced with flints. Hipped thatched roof. Tall red brick chimney.
Casement windows of two round-headed lights with 'rustic' wooden mullions
and transoms. The Gateway adjoining to the west is late C19, probably
designed by Sir Ernest George and Harold Peto in 1893. Square gate piers
faced with flints with stone ball caps flanking the drive. Elaborate pair of
wrought iron gates comprising double carriage gates flanked by smaller
pedestrian gates. On each side of these are curved flint walls, probably
of early C19 date.
