Early C17 house. Tiled gabled roof with gable end facing South Pallant.
Northern front and parapet later added; refaced with roughcast in C20. 3
storeys. 2 windows to 2nd storey, 4 windows to 1st storey; sash windows
with flush boxes and glazing bars intact. Pilasters at the ends. Cornice
with modillions. Doorway up 4 steps; rusticated semi-circular arched
doorway; semi-circular arched door with 6 fielded panels. Fine staircase
and panelling. (Open well staircase with very slender turned balusters,
columnar newels, carved brackets under treads, and panelling above inner
string; fretwork band beneath balusters on landing. Panelling in 1st and
ground floor rooms.)
Nos 9 to 12 (consec) form a group.
