Formerly Horsham Public Assistance Institution.
1838. The building consists of a complete quadrangle of which the main north front
is made up of a centre block and 2 wings connected to the centre by single-storey
buildings. Painted brick. Ground floor stuccoed and rusticated. Slate roof.
Centre block has 2 storeys and 6 windows. Projecting centre portion of 2 windows
under a pediment. Oculus below flanked by round-headed windows. Large carriage
arch rising through stringcourse into 1st floor. The wings have 2 storeys and
2 windows.
The single-storey buildings have 3 large round-headed windows rising through a
stringcourse. Modillion eaves cornice to the whole front. 1st floor windows are
segmental-headed. All sash windows, glazing bars intact.
