L-shaped C17 or earlier timber-framed building with red brick infilling, some
of it of herring-bone pattern. Hipped tiled roof. Casement windows. Two
small gables facing north oversailing on carved bressummers and brackets with
carved bargeboards and pendants at apex and angles. Gryphon crest of the
Duke family of Laughton Lodge. Two storeys and attic in gables. Four windows
facing north, 4 windows facing east.
