House, now surgery and flat. Later C17, extended to rear in mid C18, altered
c.1800, wing added c.1840; altered c.1888. Hand-made orange brick in Flemish
bond, sides rendered, some slate hanging at rear, red tiled roof. Rectangular
double-depth plan formed by C18 addition to rear of single-depth range, under 2-
span roof, plus service wing added at right-hand end. Two-and-a-half storeys and
3 bays, formerly symmetrical, with parapeted centre breaking forwards; rendered
"quoining" at the corners; late C19 porch with hipped roof, glazed door with
overlight; a wide sashed window to the left with margin panes, a late C19
canted bay window to the right, and three 12-pane unhorned sashes at 1st floor,
all these sashed windows with gauged brick heads; 3 small gabled dormers in the
roof, all with 2-light casements. The rear has a ground floor loggia of chamfered
timber posts supporting a slate-hung upper floor which has three 9-pane sashed
windows and a casement to the left; a weatherboarded hip-roofed dormer to the
left, and a smaller gabled dormer to the right, both with 2-light casements.
Interior: altered, but the former parlour in the 1st bay of the front range has a
cross-corner fireplace.
