With Nos 140 and 142. Early C19 front to a C17 red brick gabled building
known as the Dutch House. Now stuccoed with capped parapet. 3 storeys and
6 windows. Tiled roof. Chimney stacks at eastern end, behind and to left
of centre. Tops of 2 hipped dormers visible above parapet. Sash windows
in 2nd storey with glazing bars intact. Tall French windows on 1st storey
with iron balconettes to Nos 132 and 134, and Nos 140 and 142. Ground floor
of Nos 132 and 134 occupied by modern shop front; carriage entrance at its
western end. C19 shop front on ground floor of Nos 136 and 138. The former
Dutch House was of a somewhat similar style to the Old House in London Road,
Mickleham; see London Road. Photograph in the NMR.
Nos 132 to l56 (even) and Nos 164 to 170 (even) form a group.
