3 cottages, formerly farmhouse. Early C17 or earlier extended by one bay in C19 and exten-
sively restored in 1984. Timberframed having square panel with some diagonal tension braces
and brick infill. Tiled roof with offcentre multiple stack. 1 storey and attics, 4 windows.
4 modern gabled dormers with bargeboards. 4 renewed casements with wooden frames. 4 wooden
gabled porches; brick with tiled roofs. Simple oak plank doors. Modern brick extension to
rear, not of special interest. The interior of no 1 has old plank doors and exposed wind-
braces and tension braces. No.2 has jowled posts, windbraces, Queen post roof with deep tie
beam, sane traces of wattle and daub a 6 panelled door with original iron hinges and 2 other
door of 3 planks. Elm spine beam and joists. Posible original hall house as the ceiling in
no. 2 is of elm, a different material which suggests an inserted ceiling, but most of the
evidence has disappeared.
