House, now shop. Early C16 core with later C16 and C17 extensions to rear, re-
fronted in early C19. Timber framed clad in colourwashed render and with plain-
tiled roof, gable-end on to street, obscured by parapet under moulded coping.
Two storeys and attic over basement with large C17 stack to rear. 12-pane glazing-
bar sash window in attic storey now blacked out, with reeded surround. Shallow
bow window on the first floor with original curving glazing-bar sash fenestration,
C20 shop front on the ground floor.
Interior:- Front section of two framed bays with a crown post roof, three crown
posts survive on cambered tie beams with two curving brace/struts, to the tie
beam; the centre post has two upward braces to the collar purlin, the other crown
posts only have one surviving. Chamfered and stopped wall plate to right hand
wall. An additional two rear bays have through side purlin roofs and diminishing
principal rafters. Further C17 rear bay has staggered butt purlins and the
remains of an original window in the rear gable.
