Cottage, formerly the western gatelodge to Hengrave Hall (800 yards south-west
of Hall). c.1840. 1½ storeys, attics, 2 windows. Painted brick walls.
Plain tiled roof with axial red brick chimney having 2 gault brick circular
moulded shafts; casement dormer, gabled with carved bargeboard and spike
finial. Hood-moulded windows with wrought iron casements, diamond and arched
panes. Hood-moulded boarded entrance door with arched head; single-storey
gabled tiled porch with hood-moulded square openings, carved bargeboard and
spike finial.
