Originally one house, now 2. Core is C15 former open hall, converted into a
2-cell lobby entry house in C17. Remodelled C18 as 2 cottages. C18-C19 in-
line additions on each gable end, altered and extended 1980's. Roof destroyed
by fire 1981. Timber framed and rendered, thatched roof. Additions pantiled.
1½ storeys. Various small casement windows. At rear of Oak Hall Cottage the
upper half of the C15 diamond-mullioned hall window is exposed. 2 hooded
dormers of 1980's. C20 doors and glazed porches. Internal stack has rebuilt
square shaft. Interior. A little C15 framing, exposed mainly in Oak Hall
Cottage. Cambered tie beam of open hall truss has mortice for crown-post.
C17 inserted floor has exposed joists. Stack inserted in lower bay of hall
against open truss. In Oak Hall Cottage, an open fireplace with original
lintol and C18 bread ovens. In Oak Cottage, a good C18 shelved cupboard with
semi-domed head and paired panelled doors.
