II
House. Late C16, with late C19 alterations. Timber framed and plastered.
Plaintiled roof with some rows of fishscale tiles. 2 storeys and attic. 2-
cell, lobby entry form. 2 windows: on the ground floor late C19 mullion and
transom casements, on the upper floor mid C20 single-pane casements; all have
3 lights. Late C19 gabled porch with contemporary partly-glazed door. Small
extra window over porch. Internal stack with 2 octagonal flues, rebuilt mid
C20. Adjoining the left gable end a mid C20 lean-to conservatory. Further
lean-to additions at rear, against the road. Ground floor rooms have axial
bridging beams, the longer room to left with chamfered joists also exposed.
Some good first floor framing with heavy reverse-curved braces. Both upper
rooms have chamfered-joist ceilings. Newel stairs, the lower flight original.
Some C18 2-panel doors. Roof structure not visible and probably renewed in
C18-C19.
