Two houses, built as one in early C17 or earlier with medieval core. One
storey and attics. 3-cell cross-entry plan. Timber framed and plastered.
Thatched roof half-hipped to right, with axial chimney, rebuilt in C20 red
brick. Two C19 casement dormers. C19 and C20 small-pane casements. Boarded
and battened C20 entrance door to Thatched Cottage, glazed panelled door to
Briar Cottage. Thatched Cottage has inserted binding beams projecting from
the front wall, indicating a medieval open hall with later upper floor.
