House, latterly 2 dwellings. c.1600, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame, part brick cased. Largely plastered with some framing exposed. Steeply pitched patterned machine tiled and pantiled roof. 3 cells, originally with a cross passage plan. 2 storeys and attic. Entrance now in lobby entry position to left of centre in a C20 gabled porch reusing old timber and a 4 centred arched door head probably from original entrance, jetty to upper floor of porch and herringbone brick nogging to gabled head. Parlour bay to left has midrail and first floor close studding exposed, C20 2-light casements and horizontal sliding sashes. Hall and service bays were brick fronted in C19, 2-light glazing bar casements with a segmental head on ground floor. C18 ridge stack to left of centre between hall and parlour. Right gable end exposed struts from tie beam to collar, plates and purlins. Left gable end exposed framing with a 4-light ovolo mullioned window. Attached to left a C20 1 storey gable fronted extension. To rear exposed studding on first floor in parlour bay, 2- light casements, a C20 lean-to to rear left. Interior: close studding with midrail, hall has a stop chamfered cross axial binding beam, 4 centred arched doorway from screens passage into service end, C18 stack possibly replaces a smoke hood, parlour has a stop chamfered cross axial binding beam, stop chamfered joists towards stack. First floor: cranked braces from jowled posts to cambered tie beams, straight and curved tension braces in walling, bar stopped axial binding beams, early 4-light window openings, outer ovolo and inner fluted mullions over parlour, cranked collars and halved principals clasp purlins, cranked windbraces.
