Farmhouse, probably once a manor house. Mid C16 main range; set forward to
left a slightly later parlour cross-wing, built in 2 phases. T-shape plan.
Timber framed and plastered with a plaintiled roof, hipped over both ranges.
2 storeys. C20 casement windows with small panes. Mid C20 glazed entrance
door in side of cross-wing. Main range has an external stack set against the
rear wall and a later axial stack. Interior has fine exposed framing. 3-bay
hall with moulded cross-beamed ceiling. 3-bay hall chamber has moulded
bridging beams, on-edge joists and one blocked window with cavetto mullions.
Early C17 first floor partition to form side passage: above the doorway into
the hall chamber is an internal window with ovolo mullions. Original layout
of rest of main range is unclear, and it may once have extended further north.
