House, built in 3 sections: early C16 or possibly C15; a mid C17 parlour block
to left; and a mid C17 service cross-wing to right. Centre block, 1 storey
with attics, the remainder 2 storeys. Timber-framed and plastered. Thatched
roof with a gabled casement dormer at centre. An axial and two gable chimneys
with C19 shafts of painted red brick. C19 and C20 small-pane casements; a
number of C17 diamond-mullioned windows exposed and glazed. Boarded C19/C20
entrance door. The centre range has studwork with arch wind-bracing of C16
form, and apparently has a C17 inserted 1st floor (roof structure
inaccessible). The parlour block has a lintelled open fireplace. 1st floor
joists set on edge, and a butt-purlin roof. The cross-wing has similar
features, but floor joists are laid flat; a lintelled open fireplace in the
rear gable.
