GV II

Post Office and village room, formerly shop and houses. C18 and early C19.
Ironstone ashlar and squared, coursed ironstone. Post Office has coped gable to
left. Tile and slate roofs with brick ridge and end stacks. 2 storeys. 4-window
range. Range to right has a C19 shop front. Double part-glazed doors within
wood-lined recess. To either side of recess a 5-light wood window flanked at
each corner with a stone plinth with wood pilasters above. To left and right of
first floor a 2-light gabled half-dormer. Range to centre has central C19 plank
door with segmental lintel. To left a 16-pane horned sash. To right a 3-light
casement. Attached to left a C18 range with gable end to front. To right a plank
door with wood lintel. To centre a large 1914-1918 war memorial tablet. Above a
2-light leaded casement with wood lintel. Continuous hood mould above. Interior:
central range has refaced open fireplace with original bressumer behind.
