HORNINGSHAM GENTLE STREET

Detached house. Late C17 and C18. Random rubble stone, half-
hipped thatched roof, brick stacks. Gable end to road, 'L'-plan.
Two storey, 4-windowed; casements. Planked door with gabled
canopy to right of centre, two 2-light flush cyma-mullioned
casements to right, one 2-light mullioned casement and two 2-light
casements to left, cellar to left has 2-light recessed cyma-
mullioned casement. First floor has four 2-light cyma-mullioned
casements with eyebrows; eaves probably raised mid C18. Left
return has 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to ground
floor, 2-light mullioned casement to first floor. Rear has blocked
doorway and 1-light casement, rear wing to left has stone bull's-
eye to ground floor, 2-light casements to first floor, gable of
wing has planked door and small ogee window.
Interior has chamfered beams, open fireplace with chamfered timber
lintel.
