Milepost. Dated 1834. Cast iron. Cylindrical with enlarged head bearing 2 inscribed panels. Left hand panel: "LEEK / 8 / MILES" Right hand panel: "ASHB N / 7 / MILES"; head inscribed: "JAMES BASSET ASHBOURNE 1834"; shaft inscribed ".....46 MILES".
