Parish church. Late C13 altered possibly C16 and largely refaced circa 1848, possibly, it is said, by Pugin. Coursed, dressed and squared red sandstone; tiled roofs to chancel and north chapel; nave roof invisible behind fretted parapet. West tower, nave and aisles, south porch, chancel, north chapel. Tower: C13 base to C16 superstructure; short and broad of approximately 3 stages, stepped-in to centre; diagonal buttresses of seven stages, crenellated parapet on raised string with gargoyles to centres of north and south sides. Deep-reveal, Tudor arched, two-light bell chamber openings, small lancets to centre stage and pointed Y-tracery window to south (no west window or door). Nave and aisles in one unit with low pitched roof: 3 bays divided by 2 stage buttresses; all but the faces of the north wall appear to be late C19; large pointed, labelled windows of 3 lights and curvilinear tracery; gabled porch to south-west; diagonal buttresses at angles and small lancets over labelled pointed entrances. Chancel of similar ridge height to nave but with steeply pitched roof and low eaves; late C19, of two bays divided by two stage buttresses, part obscured to south by gabled vestry and completely obscured to north by Draycott chapel; small, pointed two light window to south-east bay and pointed labelled east window with cinquefoils set in petal shapes to head. Draycott Chapel lower than chancel, late C13, of two bays, gabled to east, 3-stage angle buttresses; pointed windows of 1 and 2 lights to north and 3-light pointed (rounded at head) east window.
