C18 group. All ashlar. No 21 has 3 storeys and basement, scroll foot-
stone to gables and pantiled roof. Doric doorcase, 2 Venetian windows
each floor, and 1 window in single storeyed wing. No 22 has 2 storeys,
attics and basement. 3 sash windows up (renewed), good doorcase below.
No 23 has 2 storeys and basement, Adam doorcase, 4 later sash windows
above.

All listed buildings in Quay Walls form a Grade II group in view of their
prominence as the river frontage of Berwick. Nos 19 to 23(consec) form
a Grade II* group as they are a very fine row in close proximity to the
Custom House.
