Gateway and walls to Halls Place (formerly listed as garden gateway at Halls Place)

Gateway. C17, brought here in 1910 from near Reading. Sandstone Doric style pilasters
on plinths with pinnacles over the cornice, now enclosed in brick parapet. Central
segmental head pediment over. Stone surround to gate, bolection profile. Open wooden
gate with turned balusters to upper half. Curved brick quadrant walls approx. 5'
3 inches high to ends stepping up over the gate to c. 10 feet high. Coursed sand-
stone to either end of the brick walls and extending for approximately 10 metres on
either side.
