5/12 Peat Farm Cottage

Cottage. Late C16, extended and re-roofed in C19. Timber framed, exposed, with
cement render infill to left and first floor right, rough coursed, galleted Bargate
rubble with brick dressings (once colourwashed)to ground floor right. Hipped
plain-tiled roof with catslide over outshot to rear. Built at right angles to
street. Two storeys with central ridge stack. One framed bay to left with arched
bracing to first floor. Two framed bays to right of thin scantling. Irregular
casement fenestration with 3 windows to first floor and 3 below, including one in
pentice to left. Plank door to right end under open pentice hood on wooden supports.
