Built 1716-19 in Gothic from the bequest of Dr John Radcliffe, the masons
being Bartholomew Peisley and William Townesend; Francis Smith of Warwick,
"Surveyor" was also consulted. Chimneys and gables repaired in Doulting
stone. The gate hall on North has a fan-vault. There is a statue of Dr
Radcliffe over the gateway in the North range.
