A restoration circa 1901-4 in Doulting stone of a stone house probably built
in the last half of Cl7. 3-storeyed ashlar front with a balustraded parapet,
a Welsh slate hipped roof and stone stacks. 2 and 3-light stone mullioned
windows with a continuous hood mould to each floor. There is a central 2-storeyed
projecting porch with a pediment and a 2-light sash window above it. At
the back is the staircase projection and red brick additios by Benjamin Woodward.
For plans, see Antiq Jnl 27 (1947) Fig 17 p 142 and for drawing of its state
in 1821. Plate xxb. Interior: The framing of the original staircase remains;
in the spandrels of a pair of its wooden arches is the date 1663.

Nos l, 1l to 17 (consec), 19, 20, Black Hall, Part of Queen Elizabeth House
and Nos 22 and 23 form a group.
