Stables approx. 40m. N of Baldon House

Stables. C18. Brick with some flared headers on limestone rubble plinth; old
plain-tile roof with brick stacks. Single-range. 2 storeys. 8-window front is in
3 builds, mostly chequer pattern but with one bay, to extreme left, with panels
of flared headers. Segmental-arched fenestration is irregular with, at first
floor, five 2-light casements, 2 loft doors and a blind window; at ground floor,
3 stable doors, 3 horizontal-sliding sashes and 2 C20 garage entrances. Roof is
half-hipped to right. Blank rear wall bounds churchyard and has a datestone on
the latest (right) section inscribed 1775. Interior: several C18/early C19
loose boxes remain. Included for group value.
