Two cottages. Two ranges: C17, later C17 extension to left. Limestone rubble,
uncoursed to right and coursed to left; gabled thatch roof; stone stack with
dripcourse and brick flue to left gable of right-hand cottage; left end stack of
stone finished in brick. One- extended to 3-unit plan. One storey and attic;
3-window range. Taller cottage to right has timber lintel over C20 door;
2-window range to left has timber lintels over C20 one- and 3-light casements,
and C20 dormer casements with surrounding C20 roof-tiles; bay to left has timber
lintels over C20 door and 3-light casement. Interior: No.38 (to right) has no
visible features. No.40 not inspected.
